I brazed two pieces of 3/8 steel line into a "Y". Then I slipped the 5/16 pieces into the "Y" and brazed them in. Sorry, I can't help but hold my mouth in some wierd poosition when I'm doing something that requires any coordination.
A little cleanup with some crocus cloth, some silver paint, and it looks okay...

The left tank will connect with a short section of hose, so I can preserve the current petcock with reserve. I still need to figure out how the bottom will connect to the fuel filter on the carb... I think somebody did some tinkering at the filter. The thread size is for 1/4" flare fitting, but the pipe going in is 5/16"... I'll figure it out.
For the right side petcock, I needed to modify the Hodaka petcock (posted here earlier) to add a flare fitting. I disassembled the valve, and silver-soldered the male flare fitting to the bottom. It started as an internal flare cap, but I drilled it the right size to fit over the original Hodaka fitting.

I'll probably have to wait till Monday to go to American Hose and Fittings and see if they can advise me on the connection options at the fuel filter...
