After a lengthy delay, finally got my stock exhaust components from AAOK this week. I was prepared to really battle to get them to fit (my experience with aftermarket parts is pretty spotty), but surprised to say the new exhaust went on pretty well. When I do the paint, I will also bead blast and recoat the pipes, but for now, I like the look:

The dual exhaust setup will likely appear on JJ before long. Hoping to raise the money to get my remaining handlebar parts, the last big project.
I also threw in a picture of my Hodaka petcock, which fits my right tank perfectly. I opened the petcock to show the handle, and a drip of oil is just about to fall...
Wow! That's really exciting progress.
ReplyDeleteYou've done quite a bit to it since the last time I looked hard at it. I can actually see the new headlight in this view, kicker pedal, etc. I'm really excited to see it with the correct rear fender setup. Let me know if you need a hand again to list the old exhaust system.
If you eventually end up going to 18" wheels front and back I think it would look better with 4.50 X 18 Deluxe Champs. I kinda wish I'd gone with a 4.50 X 18 in the back but it would have been a total PITA to refit the fender. They are like .5" taller & actually a bit more than .5 inch wider. They do make a significant difference visually.
I found a picture of the tire you mention on JJ. I agree; it would look nice.
ReplyDeleteNot the Deluxe Champion but still a Coker 4.50 X 18 on an HD springer.

ReplyDeleteYes, I like that Coker tire very much... I'll have to work on wearing out the current set, so HarleyWidow will see the need for new tires.
