Timer...

Stopped by Dave Eady's house last night to return his WLA footboards, because I found the rectangular ones instead. Started talking to him about the magneto, and he convinced me to buy a used "timer" from him. Harley calls it a timer because they use a "wasted spark" system: they fire both plugs every time (one is on the exhaust stroke at the time). Indians use a distributor.

My points were missing the spring. I found one in a ball point pen that I think will work. I also ordered a coil and some small miscellaneous parts for the timer.

At some pont I hope to have some truly exciting action to post, but for now, this is my life. The weather here is REALLY bad, so that puts a big crimp in my riding...
