Two for One Special...

I rode the '38U to the Children's Ride 15 in Issaquah and hung out with the Cossacks. They did a really good show, although it was a bit depressing how much smaller the Children's Ride appeared to be this year... The economy has people really reeling.



It had been a while since I saw Lil Jimmy do the two bike ride... The logistics of this are mind-boggling. Right hand has the front brake on the right bike. Right foot has the clutch on the right bike.

Left hand has the throttle on the left bike. Left foot has the back brake. He not only does this in a straight line, but can turn as well. Pretty amazing. Jimmy brings the two bikes to a complete stop, and Andy (in the background) has to be ready to disengage the clutch on the left bike for Jimmy when he stops...

Cossacks carpooling...



Dave E. shared a pretty cool story... The Cossacks apparently performed recently in Ephrata (Eastern WA). A 92-year old man approached them with a photo and a very heavy trophy. Turns out he was one of the original Cossacks, and the photo showed the trophy being awarded to him at the Cossack Christmas party on, get this, December 6, 1941. One can't help but wonder how many of those young guys went off to WWII, and how many didn't make it back.

Someone suggested that he sit on a Cossack bike for a photo, and apparently his leg was over the frame, and he was back in the saddle in a flash, just like it was 1941 again...
