Tires are off, thanks very much to Fuzzy at Classic Thunder for the tire machine. Hubs are stripped. Everything inside looks new and perfect. Wheels are true enough, spokes are tight. Off to powdercoat tomorrow.
Fuzzy also supplied a steering damper, since the easiest time to install it is with the fender out. The damper will be valuable when I am doing my Indian Larry imitation and standing in the saddle... or not.
You wouldn't believe the complexity (and parts count) of a traditional Harley star hub. Not hard to take apart, but the parts just keep coming. I will reassemble them EXACTLY like they came apart; otherwise it must take a degree in mechanical engineering to get the thrust clearance set up right.

I can't believe you have not posted for over a week! You have been working like mad every night and over the weekend and you have no progress to post? Maybe I should visit the garage a little more often.... I won't find a small fidge and big screen TV out there in a newly established "man den" will I?
