"Tina"

I went to the Isle of Vashon motorcycle event today. If it's possible to say, there were almost too many motorcycles! One in particular caught my eye, though...

This 'Knuck is named "Tina". That's short for Patina, get it...? The cases are 1936EL, but the frame and most everything else is 1941. According to Peter (he's the one in the background), it went into a barn in 1960, and emerged when his Dad bought it in 2002. After changing fluids, and replacing the battery, it started in four kicks. After forty years.

It had one 1/2" square chip of paint left where part of the accessory rear fender bumper cracked and fell off. The color on this chip was identical to the Flight Red on my 45".

Hard to tell in this day and age what patina is authentic, and what is faked. What do you think?

Pretty sweet in any event!

  1. Cool stuff. It looks like from the pics in your stash that Hollister was well received. Again, I wish I could have been there.
