Sounds like Friday and Saturday were hopping, but there was still some cool stuff on Sunday. I got Harley O.E.M. footrests (passenger pegs). The Cossacks use these for some of the stunts. Also got internals for '54 to '59 Panhead bars, but I may end up selling these.
Here are some cool bikes I saw...
This one is called a Panther, if I remember right. I don't know much about it, so I will have to rely on BitMonkey to fill me in. Pretty cool looking, but must be pretty small displacement.

Flathead ULH (80") bobber, plus most of the original parts that came off of it, in a tub. I found a bunch of parts in the tub I would have liked to buy, but it was a package. I think he was asking $13,000.

This Velocette was kinda cool, except that the ultra-modern headlight totally didn't work for me. That frame is also pretty short-coupled...

Harley and Indian Wars... I think the same guy owned both. The Harley is a 1938 U, with quite a few more modern parts.

I still have not had the chance to ride an old Indian. It would be fun to make a first-hand comparison. They look better-built than a Harley in some ways, with the nice cast primary in place of the cheap tin cover, but somone told me that the Scouts have a kind of weak bottom end...
This is a late thirties Chief, I believe.
That Panther is an interesting bike. They're British, I think that might be a model 60. If so they are like 248cc's or something. They switched from a girder to telescopic forks in the late 40's so that may be a relatively early one or just assembled from parts. I think Panther met it's demise in around 1967, a very hard time for most the Brit MC manufacturers.
ReplyDeleteThere's a new Panther MC company in the UK now, wild stuff! Electric, turbo diesel, turbo Hemi. A former VP of Chrysler is involved. They are kinda pushing the envelop.
