History

The only history known about the U at this point is the current owner is Jeff Leighton. Jeff has some interesting friends in bike building. Based on the Fours Aces web site Jeff asked Wes White to build him a unit Triumph a few years ago.

Apparently somewhere along the way Jeff was assimilated by Four Aces. Wes had the following to say about Jeff. "My longest lasting part-time guy is Jeff Leighton, builder of awesome bikes. I am proud to say that I influenced him some." A recent posting on JJ announced Wes had won Best Bike at the 2010 Grand National Roadster Show. Wes in part credits Jeff saying "Jeff Leighton, one of my best friends also helped out a lot as well."

Jeff's '38 Knucklehead chopper was covered recently in a feature on Chop Cult.

According to the original ad listing for the U Jeff is selling it to fund Bonneville activities.

I hope this post doesn't come across as Internet stalkerish. It's just nice to learn whatever you can about an old bike's history. It sure would be nice to know a little more about some of the bike's other 70+ years.
