The "45 Competition Special"

Went to an antique show today with HarleyWidow, and found this letter in a binder of Harley stuff...

Kind of interesting to read his desription of the "45 competition special" and the comparison to the 61" (OHV)... I am assuming the 45 he's talking about is the WLDR, but I am not sure. I don't think the WR came out until after WWII.

Hard to imagine doing 80 or 90 mph on ANY 45"... Oh, yeah, the other interesting thing about this letter... At the time he wrote it, "Shorty" Ordwing was the [first] Captain of the Seattle Cossacks (from 1938 - 1942) and holds membership #1 (!).
